Reimu Hakurei Nendoroid

Reimu Hakurei Nendoroid

So I recently received my Hakurei Reimu Nendoroid in the mail! As we all know this was a Comiket 76 exclusive and was also an online/hobby store exclusive in Japan. Thanks to TokyoHunter, I got the package quickly and safely! If anyone is interested in his services, I can attest that he is indeed legitimate and quite good as a proxy service. Not exactly the most flexible in getting what you want, since you have to pre-pay the entire cost (including shipping) and you have to pre-order with him within a certain time frame, but overall it was a good experience.

Anyways, so I got the package and took pictures as soon as I had some time.

No. 74 on the official Nendoroid list!

I am pretty lazy, so I won't be making the effort to show all the different combinations, so here is a picture of all the included accessories.

Side view. The little pony-tail she has can actually be adjusted to different angles. A nice plus for posing.

The back view. Her hair was done very nicely. Exceptionally accurate.

She sits a little far back on the base.

This is the only pose I bothered with. I hate changing out parts, especially the hands and arms. I feel like I am going to snap something.

I've been playing a good amount of Touhou Hisotensoku, got a nice shot of the Nendoroid with Reimu from the game for a comparison. Pretty darn accurate I'd say.

Time for review. Sad to say, of ALL the Nendoroid figures that I have, this one is of average quality. The joints feel a little loose, more loose in comparison to my Kokonoe Rin. Although, the box was 100% sealed, it felt like it had been pre-handled in some way. The figure falls over if not careful, and the left arm was unusually stiff. Moving her left arm up even just a little bit was a pain in the ass. The part connecting the legs/skirt to the waist felt loose as well. There was a minor super faded tiny black spot on the front of her skirt. Not sure what it was, thinking it was dirt, I tried to wipe it away with a damp microfiber cloth, but it didn’t come off. Probably a blemish during manufacturing.

Other than these small complaints, the figure is actually very well done. Accurate to the Touhou image and very cute. I like how Good Smile Company has made the effort to add smiley faces (like the one in their logo) to the rotating joints in all their Nendoroids.

If you’re a Touhou fan, this is pretty much a ‘must get’. However, obtaining one now is probably more difficult. You are left with options like eBay, YJA and/or deputy service.
